Happy "owl"ween

This is my other non winning entry into the Halloween Stampin' Success magazine.  It probably had too much going on but it was fun to make.  The card used the tree from Season of Friendship (thanks to my friend Alicia). The "happy" comes from the Just Add Cake DSP-you punch out the letters.  Kind of like a really cute ransom note-he he.  The pennant punch is SO fabulous I love it.
the card is long and narrow but fits in the open end envelope.
Hope you enjoy it.  Keep checking back for more card and paper-crafting fun.

trick or treat

I entered this card in the Stampin' Sucess magazine contest for Halloween card.  I just knew I'd get a call on my cell phone from Utah but no such luck.  So far I haven't been published yet but I will keep trying.  This card has a rich razzleberry base with a black panel using the embedded embossing technique.  Various sized circles in old olive, pumpkin pie and rich razzleberry were "squished" into the panel using the square lattice EF.  On the whisper white layer I stamped the boots from the Wicked Cool set and put an owl on top.  I didn't have any current pumpkin DSP so I stamped the cobweb from the same set onto his vest.  His eyes have crystal effects on them and then I tied a knot in the wide stripe ribbon for more texture.  I printed the words using MDS and punched out with the modern label punch.

The inside is the "treat" using the cupcake punch.  I hope you enjoyed.  Please come back tomorrow and I'll post my other entry.

Best of the new in colors

I'm so excited about these new in colors.  You can judge my love by the fact I bought the ink pads :)
This card is inspired by Catherine Pooler, who did a wonderful series using this stamp set and the berry blossoms DSP.  Check out her website or you tube for those videos. The base is wisteria wonder and the DSP was cut to size then I cut about 1 and a half inches off and flipped it over to give the contrast.  For the ribbon I was stingy and cut just enough to go over the edge of the DSP.  I only glued down the very outside edges and then to the back.  Then I cut another short piece of ribbon and tied the knot.  It looks like you wrapped it all around and ited it but without wasting too much PRECIOUS ribbon...(I hoard it).  Hope you enjoy.
