Hello fall

Okay...I'm not even going to pretend to have an excuse for such a long absence from the blogosphere.  All is good and I have been busy crafting and doing lots of other stuff.  For now I want to share with you a new card that I made and am sharing on SUO challenges.  This one is for my parent's 44th wedding anniversary.  The autumn wood accents are backed with water color paper.  There's new DSP there and the sentiment comes from a new set for hostesses.  I am totally in LOVE with the feather stamp set and matching die.  Well I hope to post some more soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Dad!

This is the card I made for my dad.  This was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest (love).  This card means more since we traveled to London during their visit in December.  Hope you enjoy.  This is a quick post today...we are headed to Legoland tomorrow!

Happy 70th birthday baby A

My dad and his fraternal twin brother have a milestone birthday this Friday.  I'll share my uncle's card with you today and dad's tomorrow.

This is another Window Slider card that Dawn showed us how to make on her blog.  I love this Retro Fresh DSP.  I think geometric shapes are a key element to a masculine card.  I hope you try making one of these.  Just like yesterdays card this one fits in a regular envelope.
Please come back tomorrow for my dad's card.

Card in a Box

I'm back. I have not had idyll hands but I haven't been posting much.  I can say I took lots of pictures and hope to post more soon.  This is my version of "card in a box".  There are lots of tutorials out there but the one I used came from Anji Juda.  I like it because the flaps are less "flappy".  This one is going to my german neighbor's daughter who will be turning 4 soon (see 4 balloons).  The greeting is in Deutch :)  I can't think of the DSP but I used daffodil delight and melon mambo for the colors.  Party this Way and Keep Calm are the sets I used.
Give it a try...it's really not hard and it folds flat and fits in a regular envelope.  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Jill!

Did I fall off the planet or continent again...no.  I can hardly believe it has been so long since I posted anything.  We had some fun adventures over the holidays and traveled a good bit.  Of course I've been creating but everything has been going out the door before I could take a picture.   I hope to get back on the wagon and post some new things.
It is one of my faithful blog followers' birthday today and to celebrate I made this card...98% SU stuff.

The card was demonstrated on Dawn's blog.  It is a really fun card and not hard to put together at all.
So happy birthday Jill...I promise I will post more.

Glitter Queens Winter Blog Hop Day 3

Wow-where does the time go?  Today is the last day of our hop and we hope you've enjoyed everything.   Did you see what Jenny did today?   My project today is a sweet little something for all the extra people on your holiday list.  Something for the postman, bus driver, favorite clerk at a store or coworker.

A few weeks ago our commissary had Starbucks hot cocoa packets.  I used some whisper white to make a pocket for the hot cocoa and a top hat lifts it out.  I attached a mini candy cane and there you go!
The whisper white is 6 1/4" x 8 1/2.  On the long side score at 3/4, 1 1/8, 4 3/4, 5 1/8.  Along the bottom score at 1/4" and it will make a box with an open top.
The hat is black 3 1/2 x 4 3/4"  On the long way score at 2 1/8 and 2 3/8.  Attach it to the packet.  The brim is 2 pieces of black 1 x 4 3/4" with all corners rounded and attached to the top of the box.
The eyes are 1" circles with white pupils from a hand held punch.  The nose is pumpkin pie cut with the pennant punch.  Jolly Bingo Bits and the small scallop decorate the brim.  His scarf is from the DSP stack cut with the Hearts a Flutter framelit.
If you have any questions please leave me a comment.  Now on to Gina and don't forget Tamara.
One last project before I go....what do you do with the Christmas cards you receive?  Here's how I preserved mine last year.

Glitter Queens Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome back!  I hope you enjoyed all the projects yesterday.  You may be here after visiting Jenny or on your own.  Please make sure to stop by everyone's blog to get really inspired.  Okay now on to today's project.

Can I say again how much I love the journaling tags.  The turned into these cute mini cards with minimal effort.  I packaged four together to give as a gift or you can use each as a quick card.  The base of each is a crumb cake card 3 x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  Four fit into this envelope made with the envelope punch board. A little glitter and some washi tape really jazzed them up.  I think the Santa one is my favorite. In fact I love it so much I'm going to enter it on SUO challenges.   A belly band really dresses up the envelope with the set Four Frames and the sentiment is from Sweet Essentials.
Now don't forget to stop by Gina's and Tamara's for more super cute ideas.
And come back tomorrow for our last day and idea for a little gift for all the extra people on your list.
